Hi Sheryl,

Thanks for reading the exercise... it's an exercise that my writing group sent me. I'm so sad that I can't meet with them this summer (they're in Missouri this summer) after meeting with them at various locations for the past six summers, so I'm grateful that they are emailing me exercises.

This one was to find 20 words in some poetry books and use them in a poem without trying to use many more words beyond those words. "Midnightsun" is Gloria Anzaldua's lovely creation from one of her BORDERLANDS poems! I should have put a note about that word since it's her creation beyond simply a word.

Was feeling and still am feeling censored this week in order to get thru. Hence the skinny poem exercise felt appropriate to how I feel. Hopefully a real poem will come out of my self-censorship this week.

Thanks again.
E.
