There's old asarco. C.likes me Chico's Tacos poem since the city is now fighting the plant. Apparently Asarco wants to start polluting the air again in a bad way.

Hope this doesn't happen. It's a double-edged sword, it brings jobs but then...

Ugh the poem has stuff about Asarco it it and how it's now snuffed.

i remember your poem--i read it in feminist studies a few years ago. the poem is very timely. overall, even beyond asarco, it brings to mind the infamous "tradition" of greed and corruption on the border and how this continues to contribute, unfortunately, to social injustice. there is a long, long struggle ahead, and i hope that more artists explore these matters, not to replace or augment the media (which is doing a lousy job) but to address the very human element--people who are affected by the layers and layers of injustice during these times.
